To leverage the success of the IAWA-IUFRO International Symposium on Wood Identification recently held in Beijing, IAWA Journal is organizing a Special Issue called “Challenges and Opportunities for Advancing Wood Identification: from Traditional Wood Anatomy to Novel Applications of Technology” to be edited by Yafang Yin, Alex Wiedenhoeft and Lloyd Donaldson. Participants in the Beijing symposium, IAWA members, and others are invited to contribute reviews, original research articles, and viewpoint papers relating to wood identification and wood forensics with a special emphasis on recent advances in wood anatomy and multidisciplinary approaches. The deadline to submit manuscripts for consideration in the Special Issue is February 15, 2020. We expect to publish this Special Issue as IAWA Journal Volume 41, Issue 4 (2020).
